Vintage 1970s Zandra Rhodes Hand-Painted "Shell" Dress

Zandra Rhodes

A stunning example of Zandra Rhodes's early 1970s work, from the 1972–73 "Shell Collection." This rare and special dress would be beautiful for a beach wedding. Hand-painted abstract squiggles and lines that resemble sea elements, with pearlized seashell attachments. Open fluttery sleeves. Slight empire waist (elasticized). Ruffles and bows around the waist. Full, maxi skirt. Slips on over the head.

The original tag is missing but the dress still has its original hand-painted Zandra Rhodes hanger. We suspect this dress was custom made for its original owner.
