This is such a lovely mid-1930s dress! Lightweight, silk taffeta with a brown and off-white check print. The bell sleeves are dramatically puffed with ruching at the shoulders. The neck is accented with an attached oversized scarf that can be worn as bow. The bodice has a peaked waistline (iconic of the period) and a straight, gored skirt. The original belt is included (although we had to replace the fabric on the buckle). Side snap closure.
Note: This style of dress was meant to be worn with a body shaper/corset (such as this one) which minimizes the hips to create a long, straight silhouette.
