A rare and collectible dress from Welsh designer Jeff Banks. Banks was one of the massively influential designers who made up the 70s British boutique fashion scene, which included greats such Ossie Clark, Jean Muir, Barbara Hulanicki of Biba, Catherine Buckley, etc. He was also a friend and colleague of Dame Vivienne Westwood and, in fact, was entrusted with the directorship of her eponymous company just before her death and holds that position currently.
Common among the 1970s British fashion, this dress is heavily influenced by 1940s silhouettes. Lightweight rayon with a patchwork of abstract and floral print. Deep v-neck with buttons to the waist. Puff sleeves. A-line mini skirt with gores (panels) of different print. Unlined. Back zipper. Made in England.
