Vintage 1970s Catherine Buckley Stenciled Lace Dress

Catherine Buckley

A beautiful 1970s dress from the rare and collectible British designer, Catherine Buckley.  Stenciled antique lace.  Empire waist with a very full skirt.  Dreamy angel sleeves (with two different laces).  Lined in orange acetate.

"Throughout the decades Catherine has displayed a remarkable talent for reinvention.  Perhaps her greatest triumph to date was taking 19th century manufacturers samplers, rescued from an abandoned factory and transforming them into unique patchwork creations, very much the talk of the fashion world at the time.
From simple beginnings in 1963 Catherine came to be recognised as one of the world’s most distinctive, influential and unconventional designers in the Great British tradition.
Catherine opened her first shop in Westbourne Grove in the heart of Notting Hill where she forged a reputation for quirky designs of uncompromising quality amongst celebrities, fashion experts and the buying public alike."
