The color of this 1930s velvet dress is stunning! Soft velvet in a gorgeous shade of true, dark purple. The v-neckline is accented with a wide band of subtly colored sequins. The short sleeves have gathering down their center. The silhouette is simple with a plain waistline and very slight A-line skirt. Side hook-and-eye closure. Unlined.
DETAILS
Label: none (appears homemade)
Best fits: M (see measurements)
Circa: Late 1930s
Condition: Overall very good. There are a just few nicks in the velvet (they appear as small, lighter purple scuffs; they are not holes). Most are not that noticeable at all, but there is one on the front of the skirt that can be seen in the photos. The dress appears to be handmade, so a few inconsistencies in stitching are expected, but nothing that detracts from the loveliness of the dress. Priced accordingly.
