This is an extremely rare Edwardian work or house dress! Lightweight cotton with a muted green and red plaid. The cross-bodice, short sleeves and pockets are trimmed with a pale green cotton with faggoting. The bodice has a loose fit. The floor length skirt is lightly gathered and straight. The diagonal patch pockets sit slightly lower on the skirt. The dress closes with snaps across the front, across the waist, and down the top side of the skirt.
These work dresses from this period are even more rare than formal dresses as they normally would have been worn to rags and discarded long ago.
Best fits: M/L (see measurements)
Circa: Late 1910s / Edwardian / very early 1920s
Condition: Overall very good. There are just a few very minor spots (see last photo) on the skirt and on one sleeve cuff. The dress is extremely wearable.
Bust: up to 38"
