1930s Beaded Black Velvet Evening Dress with NRA Label
$168.00 - SOLD OUT
Keeping with the style of the era, this 30s evening gown has more detailing in the back than the front. Lightweight, dark black silk velvet. Classic 30s silhouette with a loose bust, high peaked waist, and bias cut skirt. The sleeves are long and billowy. The neckline is highlighted with silver beading that double loops in the back around a keyhole opening. Side snaps.
NOTE: Several photos were lightened to show details; the dress is a very dark black.
Label: NRA (National Recovery Act) Blue Eagle label
Fabric: Silk velvet
Circa: 1930s (1933 - 1935)
BEST FITS: L (see measurements)
CONDITION: Overall very good. The dress shows normal wear. There are two pinholes on the shoulder that appear to have been caused by a brooch and can be hidden by one. There is some crushing to the velvet in areas (mostly under the arms) and there are a few pinholes at the hem. As with all vintage of this age, this dress should be worn with care. Priced accordingly; sold AS IS
Bust: up to 38"
Waist: up to 32"
Hips: up to 52" / bias cut
FIT NOTE: Because of the fitted, darted waist construction, your waist measurement will need to be slightly smaller than that of the dress. A fit that is too tight will create seam stress.
