Antique Edwardian Brown Boater Hat
This early 1900s boater hat is spectacular with a bonus! Dark brown, coarsely woven straw. A classic silhouette from the era with a high crown and flat brim and oval shape. A russet-toned silk crepe scarf ties around the crown with a bow on the side. The underside of the brim has is a tightly woven, russet-toned straw. Lined with brown silk. The bonus...here is an incense pouch that dangles under the bow. I'm not sure if this was to ward off bad smells or insects or evil spirits, but it is definitely a unique and rare piece of fashion history!
