Woven natural twine with linear stripes about the belly. Soft sided. Oblong, globular silhouette. Lidded. Attached twine strap that also holds the lid on (the lid slides un and down on the strap).
We don't know the exact history of this basket unfortunately. The owners only knew that their grandparents brought back several Native American baskets from their travels out west in the 1960s and 1970s. Research suggests this could be a Modoc basket from the Northern CA or Southern Oregon areas. Unsure of age, but 1960s/70s or older.
Height: 9" excluding strap
Width: approximately 5.5"
