Vintage Late 1930s Red Rose Bud Suit

The rose bud print and matching buttons on this early 1940s suit are so sweet!  Lightweight, red cotton/rayon blend with scattered white rose buds.  The jacket has slightly puff sleeves and buttons down the front with oversized matching buttons.    The gored skirt has a great swing - perfect for dancing.  It closes with side buttons.  There are small snaps inside the neckline where a collar was attached at some point; these do not show on the outside and can be easily removed if you don't want to add a collar.

NOTE: Red is a color that computer monitors show differently.  The suit is a true, muted dark red and perhaps not as bright red as your computer shows.

DETAILS

Label:  Mary Lynne Original

Best fits:  XS (see measurements)

Circa:  Late 1930s / early 1940s

Condition:  Overall very good.  The suit shows light, normal wear, but no specific issues to note.  The only thing to mention is that the buttonholes are large to accommodate the oversized buttons, so the top may require a slip or undershirt (see detail photo).
