This late 1930s or early 1940s suit is a classic! Lightweight rayon/wool blend (called Gabalora) in a rich shade of brown. The jacket-top buttons down the front. It has short, slightly puffed sleeves. Darts at the waist give the jacket a beautiful shape, which is accented with a thin belt. Two patch pockets on the front. The skirt is a pleated A-line that has lots of movement (perfect for Swing dancing!) and closes with a side metal zipper. Both pieces are unlined. And, being separates, these pieces can easily be paired with other items to create lots of new looks.
DETAILS
Label: GabaLora
Best fits: M (see measurements)
Circa: Late 1930s / early 1940s
Condition: Overall very good - excellent. The suit shows very light, normal wear. The only issues to note are a tiny pinhole on the back shoulder (extremely difficult to notice unless held to the light) and a tiny repaired pinehole on the lower back of the skirt (see last photo). Neither of these is distracting and are essentiallyt imperceptible when the suit is worn.
