Vintage Early 1930s Black Silk and Nude Lace Dress

This early 30s dress has so many lovey details.  Black silk crepe.  The bodice has sheer cape-sleeves with a deep front drape (there is even a small weight on the inside of the drape to insure it hangs properly) over a nude lace lining.  The skirt is A-line with a great swing to it.  The original belt with rhinestone buckle is included.  Keep in mind this dress slips on over the head with no additional openings at the side or back.

  • DETAILS:
    Label:  none
    Fabric:  Silk crepe; lace
    Circa:   Late 1920s / early 1930s

    BEST FITS:  M/L (see measurements)

CONDITION:  Overall very good.  The dress shows normal wear, especially for its age.  There are two small repairs to the nude lining at the back, but these aren't visible when worn because of the black overlay.  There are also some tiny pinholes at around the V-neck of the nude lining (see photos).  These seem like they may be from various brooches or dress clips and could be covered with such if they are bothersome.  Although this dress has been dry cleaned, a slight musty smell remains; this should come out completely with a dry cleaner accustomed to working with vintage clothing (ours is not).  Priced accordingly.  Sold AS IS.
